Hello,

Daryn just had a gymnastics meet yesterday he did great. He got a first on Floor, vault, and high bar. He also got third on parellel bars, and he got forth on rings. Daryn got sixth on pommel horse, and that is his worst event. Daryn he got a fifteen on floor and vault and he got a 14.6 on high bar . He got a 14.7 on parllel bars. Also he got a 14.0 on rings and pommel horse. He had a great meet. Their team took first over all with a 268.5. Daryn he got second all-around with a score of 87.3 the first place guy got a 88.5 so Daryn was close.

February 14, 2010- Iowas City Invitational

Daryn had a terrific meet yesterday! He was up against the toughest competition yet and he still brought home 7 medals. There were gyms from all over the US. We had boys there from Nebraska, New Mexico, Illinois, Texas, and more. It was pretty awesome to see that Daryn is right up there with the best of them. He placed 7th on pommel horse, 5th on high bar, 3rd place on floor, vault, and parallel bars, and 2nd on the rings. He got a 15.0 out of 16.0 on the rings. That is his best score yet on the rings.

Daryn also placed 3rd place all around with a score of 85.6.

Daryn on the high bar...usually this is one of his best events, but yesterday he had chalk in his eye so he wasn't able to see very well. He still placed 5th though. What a trooper!

Daryn is getting very good with his handstand on the parallel bars. He had his best score on this event yesterday as well with a 14.7.

The North Shore team tied for 1st place. What an amazing accomplishment. We are all very proud of our boys.

Upcoming meet in Iowa

Hello everyone-I just wanted to let everyone know that Daryn is going to a meet in Iowa City this weekend. We are leaving tomorrow morning and he actually competes on Sunday at 8am at the University of Iowa. I will let everyone know how he does on Sunday night.

Also, Daryn was interviewed by the Herald Journal on Tuesday and the story is on the webpage. I believe it will be in the newspaper on Monday. If anyone wants a sneak peak the website to the Herald is www.herald-journal.com.

St. Paul Park Meet-1/23/2010

January 23, 2010- Daryn's third meet is held in St. Paul Park, MN. This is the very first meet that Daryn placed in every event. He continues to wow us and his coaches as well. He took 5th place on floor, 4th place on pommel horse, 7th place on rings, 8th place on vault, 3rd place on parallel bars, 3rd place on high bar and 4th place in the all around with a 85.2.

Daryn's team took 2nd place during this meet.

Hastings Meet- 1/9/2010

January 9, 2010- Daryn had his second meet today in Hastings, MN. He continues to get better and better. Today he took 4th place on floor, 5th place on parallel bars, 4th place on high bar, and 2nd place on vault. He got a medal for 2nd place. That was pretty cool. Daryn also placed 5th in the all around category with a score of 83.1. His scores keep going up. The all around score is all of Daryn's score's for the 6 events added together to get a grand total.

North Shore Meet- 12/13/2009

December 13, 2009- Daryn had his 1st gymnastics meet. It was held at his home gym at North Shore Gymnastics Association in Maple Plain. He did great !!! He took 7th place on vault, 6th place on rings, and 2nd place on the high bar. His all around score was 81.8.

The boys' meets score a little differently than the girls. The highest score the boys can get is a 16. Daryn's highest score today was a 14.7 on high bar.

Each boy gets an individual score and then the top 3 scores for the team are added together for a team score. During this meet the North Shore team took 1st place.

U of M Iceberg gymnastics meet- 1/30/2010

Saturday, January 30th- Daryn had his 1st meet at the U of M. He did amazing. He placed in all 6 events, including a 1st place on vault and high bar. He also took 2nd place on floor, 5th place on pommel horse, 4th place on rings, and 4th place on parallel bars. He also took 3rd place all around with a score of 86.6. Daryn also got to meet John Roethlisberger. He was an Olympic gymnast in 1992, 1996, and 2000.
